Crossroads

overworking / twisting turning / dreams of damsels on the rails / I've been tongue tied / sowing white lies / making plans to no avail
crossroads always take me be surprise / God knows you've a pair of them behind your eyes
seems I've fallen in the space that's in between what you're looking for and what you've already seen / it's quite alright my dear I've played that tune before / i'm kind of glad its someone else's turn to leave

Figure Eight

Fell for a steel grey sea
a wilder kind of poetry
dancing shadows on my soul
stirring up through the cold denial
a land of suits that never smile
champagne decorates the holes
I could see it burning down
in my minds eye from the edge of town
concrete cracking all around
come the new year there'd be nothing left at all
a name on an old man's wrist in pride of place above a list that's lost all meaning over time
the second we first feel the flames we drag the lake and start again
wipe the records of our crimes
I could see it burning down
in my minds eye from the edge of town
concrete cracking all around
come the new year there'd be nothing left at all
